India: nothing below 1,000 rupees, and rates set per subcategory
In India the picture inverts. Amazon charges no referral fee at all on most categories at or below 1,000 rupees, so a ₹700 item pays fulfilment only. That is why the calculator will happily show you a zero referral fee there: it is not a bug in the rate card, it is the rate card.
The free band is not the same width everywhere. It runs to ₹1,000 on everything else, home products, clothing and watches, to ₹500 on beauty and health, and only to ₹250 on books and media. Consumer electronics, computers, televisions and refrigerators have no free band at all and pay 5% or 6% from the first rupee.
India also sets rates per subcategory rather than per category, so the option labels here name the subcategory each published rate belongs to. A different subcategory in the same department will differ, sometimes by several points, so confirm the exact rate for your listing before pricing it. Clothing above ₹1,000 is 23%, the steepest rate in any store this calculator covers apart from Amazon device accessories, which is 45% in Britain, Canada and the euro stores.
There is no per-item minimum, which together with the free band means a low-priced Indian listing can pay Amazon nothing at all on the referral line.
Fulfilment is priced by distance, and this uses the national rate
Indian fulfilment fees depend on how far the parcel travels: local, regional or national. The national rate is used here because an FBA seller cannot choose where the buyer is. Local delivery is roughly half.
The card itself is the shortest of any store here, four bands in total: ₹71 to 500 g, ₹76 to 1 kg, ₹81 to 1.5 kg and ₹86 to 2 kg. The small size tier stops at 500 g.
Prices include 18% GST, stripped from the referral base for a registered seller.
Figures come from Amazon India's published fees and pricing pages, effective 10 June 2026.
