How we make money

CentExact is free to use. It is paid for in two ways, advertising and commissions from partners, and neither is allowed to change a calculation or the order of a comparison.
Advertising
Some pages carry advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisements are labelled, sit outside a calculator's inputs and results, and never appear on this page or the other legal pages. The privacy policy describes the advertising services and the choices you have.
Partner commissions
We have an affiliate relationship with Wise, run through Partnerize. When someone opens a Wise account or makes a first transfer through a link on CentExact, Wise pays us a fixed commission. It costs you nothing, and the price Wise quotes you is the same as if you had gone to Wise directly.
Partner links appear in two places only:
- The money transfer comparison, the comparison under the currency converter and the send-money pages, where Wise's own row carries a link. The row is labelled "Partner" with "we earn a commission" beside it, before anyone clicks.
- A card under the seller fee calculators (Stripe, PayPal, Etsy, Shopify, Amazon and eBay) about Wise Business, shown only in the countries where Wise serves businesses, and labelled the same way.
Every partner link is marked as sponsored for search engines and opens in a new tab.
What a partner cannot do
- Change a ranking. The comparison orders every bank and service by the amount the recipient gets, by one rule for every row. On the routes we cover Wise is often not first, and the table shows it where its price puts it.
- Change a calculation. No partner has any say over a formula, a figure or a page's wording.
- See what you enter. Partners receive nothing from CentExact about you. If you follow a partner link, the partner's site and Partnerize record the visit under their own privacy policies.
Where the comparison's prices come from
The fees, exchange rates and markups in the money transfer comparison are Wise's public comparison of banks and transfer services, which Wise collects itself. Wise is therefore both the source of that data and a partner. That is why we measure every quote, Wise's included, against an independent mid-market rate from Open Exchange Rates, show when each price was checked, and keep a daily record of the prices on each send-money page.
