CentExact ("we", "us") operates the website at this domain. This policy explains what information is collected when you use it, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It describes what the site actually does, so it is specific about the services involved.

Summary

The calculators run in your browser. We do not operate accounts, forms or databases that store what you type.
Your inputs are placed in the page address so that results can be bookmarked and shared. Anyone with a link can read them.
The site uses Google AdSense for advertising and Google's consent tool. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google Analytics is loaded only after you grant analytics consent. Vercel's cookieless analytics and performance measurement run when the site is hosted on Vercel.
You can change or withdraw advertising and analytics consent at any time with the Privacy & cookie settings button in the footer, and opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

What you type into a calculator

Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are also placed in the page address so that you can bookmark or share a result. Anyone receiving that link can read the inputs. Opening or reloading a link containing inputs sends that address to our hosting provider, where it may appear in request logs. Browser extensions and third-party scripts, including advertising scripts, may be able to read a page address. Do not enter identifying information, and do not share a result link containing figures you want to keep private.

Your preferred display currency and colour theme are stored in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. Result links can also remain in your browser history. Clearing site data in your browser removes both.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set cookies of our own. The services below may set cookies or use local storage in your browser:

Google's consent tool (Funding Choices) stores your consent choices so that the dialog is not shown again on every visit and so that advertising and analytics scripts know what you allowed.
Google AdSense and the advertising partners it works with may place and read cookies and use web beacons, your IP address and other identifiers to serve and measure ads, and to limit how often you see the same ad. Which cookies are used depends on your consent choices and your region.
Google Analytics, when you have consented to analytics, sets cookies that distinguish visitors and sessions.

Advertising

CentExact is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. The AdSense script and Google's consent tool are loaded on every page, including before any advertisement is displayed and on pages where we show no ads, because Google uses that script to verify the site.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or to other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (My Ad Center). You can opt out of some other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices (and, in the EU, at youronlinechoices.eu).
The ad networks and vendors that may serve ads here are those Google works with in its advertising products. Google lists them, with links to each vendor's own privacy policy, at its ad technology providers page. Where Google's consent message applies, the same list is shown inside the message.
We do not use the figures you enter in a calculator to target advertising, and we do not build advertising audiences from them.

Our authorised sellers are listed in the ads.txt file at the root of this site.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choices before advertising cookies are used, following the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Until you choose, Google Consent Mode runs with advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation and analytics storage all set to denied, and Google's advertising data redaction is switched on. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalised, non-personalised or limited. Your choices are recorded by Google's consent tool in your browser.

To change or withdraw consent, use the Privacy & cookie settings button in the footer, which reopens the consent message. Withdrawal applies from that moment; it does not undo data already collected while consent was in place.

US state privacy choices

Where Google's US state regulations message is configured and applies to you, use the Do Not Sell or Share link provided by Google to limit the use of your data for targeted advertising. This is separate from the Privacy & cookie settings button for European consent choices. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. The sharing of identifiers with advertising partners for targeted advertising described above may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws.

Analytics

When deployed on Vercel, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand page usage and loading performance. They do not use cookies. We remove query strings and fragments from URLs before they are reported, so calculator inputs are not included. These services still receive the technical information needed to process a request, such as an IP address, which Vercel uses to derive an approximate location and does not store with the event.

If you consent to analytics, we also load Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors move between calculators. It is loaded only after the consent tool reports that you allowed storage and content-performance measurement (TCF purposes 1 and 8); it is never loaded beforehand. Our Google Analytics setup sends the page path and title without the query string, so calculator inputs are not sent as part of a page view.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may record technical information about requests, including IP address, browser type, requested address and timestamp, for security and reliability. Requested addresses can contain calculator inputs when you open a shared result link. Log retention depends on the hosting service and its configuration.

Third-party services

Currency conversion rates are fetched from our own server, which in turn retrieves European Central Bank reference rates from the Frankfurter API. Your inputs are not sent to that service.

Fonts are bundled with the site and are not requested from a third-party font service at page load.

Children

CentExact is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Google's advertising is configured for a general audience.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Clearing browser storage and history removes local preferences and saved links; it does not remove records already held by a service provider.
