Privacy policy

CentExact ("we", "us") operates the website at this domain. This policy explains what information is collected when you use it, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and specific.

What you type into a calculator

The numbers you enter are processed in your browser. They are placed in the page address so that you can bookmark or share a result; they are not sent to our servers for storage and we do not keep them. If you share a link, whoever receives it can see the inputs it contains.

Your preferred display currency and colour theme are stored in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. Nothing else is stored by the site itself.

Analytics

We use privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics from our hosting provider (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) to understand which pages are used and how quickly they load. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you.

If you consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors move between calculators. Google Analytics is only loaded after you grant analytics consent in the consent dialog; it is never loaded beforehand.

Advertising

CentExact is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance.

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you will see a consent dialog before any personalised advertising is served. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised, and consent signals are passed to Google using the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework and Google Consent Mode.
  • You can review and change your choices at any time through the Privacy & cookie settings link in the consent dialog, and opt out of personalised advertising by Google at adssettings.google.com.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Our authorised sellers are listed in the ads.txt file at the root of this site.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information about requests (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) in server logs for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build profiles.

Third-party services

Currency conversion rates are fetched from our own server, which in turn retrieves European Central Bank reference rates from the Frankfurter API. Your inputs are not sent to that service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we hold almost no personal data, the practical route is to clear your browser storage and adjust your advertising consent as described above. Children

CentExact is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
