Dutch income tax has three brackets, 35.75%, 37.56% and 49.5% in 2026, and the first two include the national insurance premiums that fund the AOW state pension. The headline rates understate what a pay rise costs, because two tax credits, the general credit and the labour credit, phase out as income rises, so across much of the middle range the effective marginal rate is higher than the bracket. Most employees also receive holiday allowance of 8% of salary, usually paid in May, and staff recruited from abroad may qualify for the 30% ruling, which leaves part of the salary untaxed for five years. The take-home pay calculator models both. Buying a home costs 2% overdrachtsbelasting if you will live in it, nothing for a first-time buyer aged 18 to 34 on a home worth no more than 555,000 euros, and 8% for a home you will not live in, as the transfer tax calculator shows.

Retirement rests on two pillars before your own savings. The AOW age is 67 and moves with life expectancy, and most employees also build an occupational pension through their collective agreement, so the retirement calculator is best set to the gap mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl leaves. Consumer credit is capped by decree at the statutory interest rate plus 8 percentage points, covering fees as well as interest, and lenders price right up to it, which the credit card payoff calculator flags. A new car's price already includes BPM, which is set by CO2 emissions alone, so two cars with the same emissions pay the same whatever they cost; the car loan calculator explains the scale.

The calculators below are set up for the Netherlands, and each one says which of these rules it models. Every dataset behind them is listed at the foot of this page with the date it applies from.
