An Irish payslip carries three separate charges on the same pay. Income tax is 20% up to a cut-off, 44,000 euros for a single person in 2026, and 40% above it, less personal and employee tax credits. The Universal Social Charge has bands of its own, and PRSI is charged on all earnings, at a rate that rises on 1 October 2026, the next of a series of annual increases. The take-home pay calculator runs all three for the calendar tax year. Buying a home is simpler: stamp duty is 1% up to 1 million euros, 2% on the part to 1.5 million and 6% above, the same for every buyer, as the stamp duty calculator shows.

Ireland is the exception on pension age. The State Pension age is 66, and a rise to 67 that had been legislated was cancelled before it took effect, so the retirement calculator opens at 66 while most other countries here are climbing. The State Pension (Contributory) is a flat rate built on PRSI contributions, so it covers more of a modest income than a high one. Two charges are particular to Ireland. The State levies stamp duty of 30 euros a year on every credit card account, used or not, which the credit card payoff calculator leaves out. And the price of a new car already contains Vehicle Registration Tax, charged on Revenue's own assessed retail price, and VAT at 23%, so on a mid-range petrol car close to a third of what you finance in the car loan calculator is tax.

The calculators below are set up for Ireland, and each one says which of these rules it models. Every dataset behind them is listed at the foot of this page with the date it applies from.
