The barème was indexed by 0.9%
The loi de finances pour 2026 raised every limit of the income tax barème by 0.9%, the rise in prices excluding tobacco the year before, and left the rates alone. Per part, income is now untaxed up to 11 600 €, taxed at 11% up to 29 579 €, at 30% up to 84 577 € and at 41% up to 181 917 €, with 45% above. The same indexation moved the cap on the quotient familial's advantage to 1 807 € per half part and the décote to 897 € for a single person and 1 483 € for a couple.
The budget was adopted only in February 2026, so the barème was settled late. It applies to the tax calculated in 2026, which is also what your monthly prélèvement à la source is set from.
Indexation keeps a salary that rises with prices on the same footing; on an unchanged salary it cuts the tax slightly, which is the gain of a few dozen euro a year in the impact table. A single person on 22,000 euro gains nothing because they pay no income tax in either year once the décote is applied.
The ceilings moved, the rates did not
The annual social security ceiling (PASS) rose from 47 100 € to 48 060 €. Capped contributions, such as the capped old-age contribution at 6,9 % and AGIRC-ARRCO tranche 1 at 3,15 %, now apply to more of a salary above the old ceiling, and tranche 2 starts higher. Every contribution rate is the same as in 2025, and so are the CSG of 6,8 % deductible plus 2,4 % non-deductible, and the CRDS of 0,5 %.
The 10% deduction for professional expenses is now at least 509 € and at most 14 555 €. To see your own figure, try your salary in the take-home pay calculator.
